The Psychic Stylist Podcast is now LIVE!
Hi babes! I am so excited to be writing this post because my podcast is finally LIVE!
I have been working on this podcast for a few weeks now, but I’ll admit I’ve been thinking about it for months & months. I actually purchased a microphone back in February but I let it sit on my desk for a few weeks before I had the courage to plug it into my computer & hit record.
I have always loved the world of communication & journalism. Sharing my own experiences through words, with the intention to inspire others, has always felt natural to me. I have been so deeply moved & changed by the voices of others & want to lead the ones who are walking just a few paces behind me by sharing my own experiences. I am one of those people who are incredibly comfortable speaking in front of an audience so while I was a bit nervous to hit record on the mic I was confident that it was going to be another natural extension of myself, my business, & the vision I’m constantly recreating for my future.
I won’t deny that talking to no one on the other side of the podcast mic was a little challenging at first. I must have recorded about a dozen trial episodes until I felt as if I got my rhythm fully dialled in. It was really interesting to observe myself push through the uncomfortable bits & anchor into the bigger vision.
I decided to make a little vision board for my podcast to keep me inspired when that self doubt started to creep in. If you’ve been following me for some time now than you’ll know that I love a vision board to keep myself motivated & on track with a project. Its something I can glance at anytime I need a little encouragement.
I am also lucky enough to have truly amazing women at my side who are on standby if I need a little pep talk. Ladies who see me for exactly who I am & not have to jump over any of my own subconscious hurdles. These women have been paramount in my life over & over again in helping me show up for my best self. They never ever tell me to give up, are always on point with their inspiring & uplifting advice.
If there is something you’re wanting to start, maybe a side hustle or a passion project here is what I have learned so far about the process…I hope the lessons I have learned along the way help you stick to your guns & get that thing you want to do out into the world- because there has never been a time when the world needed your magic more than now!
Take Messy Action! It’s totally ok if what you’re doing isn’t as perfect as maybe the people who have inspired you or the others who have put their work out ahead of you! Experience takes time & you’ll never gain the experience unless you start.
You see the imperfections a lot more than anyone else. I know how easy it is to be your worst critic, I used to do this SO much. I would search high & low for the smallest mistake in my work & immediately use it as a reason to pull the plug. I spent far, far too much time standing in my own way & now I have a system & the support of experts to ensure that there is nothing that wrong with my work & that really helps me simply push PUBLISH.
Let it evolve. How you start might not be how you finish, & that is ok! We are all evolutionary beings & it’s natural to adjust your sails once you’ve set out on your journey. I am always evolving, so my business is going to evolve alongside with me & that is something to celebrate! As long as you create consistently your audience will be excited to evolve alongside with you.
Life is short & you are magic so please just go for it. This is probably the most personal lesson for me. After losing my very first business at the young age of 28 I was traumatized. I didn’t have a support system to encourage me to redirect my own sails so instead I let my ship sink. It took a lot of work to resurrect my vessel out of the deeps parts of my subconscious but I did & I am never looking back again. You are not your past, or your failures, you are your future. Living right now.
How to set intentions for 2022
Well the New Years meme’s & messages are all a buzz right now & from what I can see you are either ready to take on the new year with fierce motivation OR you’re dreading what else could possibly go wrong in 2022.
I for one am excited about the start of a new year. Not because 2021 was a dream in any sense, like so many I was tested to the max this year but that has given me all the more reason to greet this new cycle with excitement.
I love a reason to refresh & plan the upcoming months with a clean slate, but before I sit down to make plans of any kind I always do this little journal practice to help me set the most authentic intentions & plans for myself.
In your journal I want you to write down a few of your favorite memories from this last year. What experiences, big or small, brought you that type of feeling that makes your body tingle all over? When were you uncontrollably smiling? Hysterically laughing? Or, so consumed in love?
Next write down some personal accomplishments that you achieved in 2021. Did you leave a job you hated? Set better boundaries with someone? Did you move? Buy your dream car? These are things that when you did them you thought to yourself “Oh my god, I did it!! I can do anything. YES, YES, YES!”
Now just take a moment with those two lists. Relive those moments. Put on some music & dance around, ya you read that right….dance! Moving your body after reading your lists will help you integrate the feelings of worthiness & confidence deep into your nervous system.
After you’ve moved your body around a bit, it’s time to draft your intentions list for the year ahead. Intentions are like goals, but with more soul. Rather than specific things or experiences, you’ll want to focus on feelings.
In 2022 do you want to feel more abundant? More adored? Do you want to feel healthier?
Writing down how we want to feel, versus writing down what we think will get us to that feeling, allows for us to collaborate with the universe in a really exciting way.
Want to feel more abundant in the new year? Instead of writing down the way you think you’ll experience more abundance, like getting a new job or going full time in your business, focus on what abundance means to you. Embody that feeling, before you have it, & watch the universe deliver abundance to you.
*Personal example here, I was hell bent on reaching a certain number in my business last year. I was SO focused on this number & month after month when I would fall short I would become consumed with doubt & a lack mentality. It didn’t matter what was happening around me, I was too focused on what wasn’t happening to receive anything that was. After doing this little exercise I re-focused my attention on abundance & what happened in the following weeks still makes me swell with pride.
I started to experience all of the abundance I had been chasing.
Think of yourself as an antenna, you have to tune your frequency to the channel that you want to receive. A new job might not actually be the thing that will bring you the type of abundance that you’re calling in.
Having trust & faith in the universe means holding your self worth high. That’s why we danced at the beginning of this ritual…to plant that self worth deep into your nervous system.
I know that might sound a little on the woo woo side, but embodiment practices are backed by science. They initiate the pragmatic shifts that really bring about change into our lives.
Ok, so, enjoy this process of getting clear on your intentions! I love keeping my list somewhere I see it everyday. It’s like a gentle reminder to make aligned decisions based on my desired intentions.
Manifesting the life of your dreams takes work, courage, & commitment…I know this! If you are looking for support & mentorship in the new year check out my offerings. I am limiting the amount of 1:1 clients I take on in this new year so be sure to book in of you’ve been hearing the call.
All my love, Nina
